I began playing guitar when I was about 10 years old, learned by ear, played pretty consistently for about a decade and then took 10 years off because of life. Meeting Joe was what made me fall in love with guitar again. His lessons are straight forward, thoughtful, careful, and specifically taylored to your needs. He has made me reach places that I never could have imagined with guitar and I wouldn't trade our experience together for the world. I always look forward to our lessons. 1000% recommend.Nov 27, 2019Verified
In addition to being an outstanding guitarist, Joe is an excellent instructor. He is very quick to identify your skill level and areas that need to be developed to take you to the next level. He particularizes each lesson to accommodate you as you grow and makes each lesson fun. With his great communication skills, joy of teaching, and love of music, he is a very effective teacher. I would highly recommend Joe to anyone on a journey to becoming a great guitarist.Oct 14, 2019Verified
Joe is not only a fantastic guitar teacher, but he is also extremely understanding and has been very flexible with my crazy changing schedule! I have had to cancel last minute due to unforeseen circumstances several times and he has always been more then gracious about it! I feel like he's really pushing me to learn new skills with my playing as well! Thanks for everything Joe!Nov 11, 2019Verified
Joe offers detailed lessons at a great price. He takes his time explaining concepts and comes up with a clear lesson plan that aligns with his student’s goals.Feb 14, 2020Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I offer discounts for students who purchase bundles of 4 lessons in advance.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I believe in a dynamic teaching approach in which I as a teacher help the student play their music and reach their own specific goals. I don't believe in cookie-cutter curriculum. Therefore, each of my student is taught differently. When starting to work with a new student, I will clarify with them their experience level (strengths and weaknesses) and what are their goals; what is their favorite kind of music, and what songs or skills they would want to learn. Although the basics in playing the guitar are similar for most styles and beginners would often learn a similar set of skills at a similar rate, I would still tailor our lessons accordingly. For example, a student interested in classical music would learn to read sheet music, while a singer-songwriter looking to improve their guitar skills would not start with that.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I studied at two conservatories and I was a music major while in high school. I've been teaching guitar independently and as a faculty member of several music schools for the past decade.
