I heard Derick on a podcast I found online, and was so impressed that I hired him the next day. Initially, I just wanted him to help me focus on the sales aspect of my business, but it has since become much much more. After analyzing my business and helping target customers with the highest profit potential, Derick has helped me immerse myself into what he calls the 'sales rhythm'. He has a system for everything from cold calls to thank you cards. He also has methods to hold me accountable for the weekly tasks to which I commit. I was looking for a professional coach with range, perspective, insight and a no-nonsense way of communicating all of which I found in Derick and more. My highlights: Versatility. I work in digital media, specializing in womens lifestyle. Darrick has always been able to relate to various challenges and bring it back to a central focus which has been all about leveraging my personal strengths. Prepared. Derick wastes no time. Theres no rehashing of previous conversations or repeating things discussed. Instead he cuts to the chase and gets to the heart of topics so the focus if on whats important. Well-read. Derick has recommended many great books and resources on topics relevant to things weve discussed. Hes opened up a completely new list of authors who have lead to others whove lead to others and so on. I find this invaluable. Hard questions. Derrick has a way of asking questions in a leveled way that inspires a pragmatic thought process. Ive found this especially useful because conversations dont just end when we hang up the phone, but continue through exploration through independent research. Very even-keeled, calm and easy to talk to. Probably the most important thing to me was finding someone whos in touch with the current media landscape, what its trying to accomplish and propose realistic ways to succeed. Derick gets it and can speak to very wide range of issues. Business insight and broad industry perspective. When he isn't immediately familiar with a topic, hell either spend time preparing in advance or follow up. But in the context of any given conversation where there are important outlying things weve not pinned down, we tend to spend time figuring out whats most important relevant to meeting states goals. In summary, Derick is one of the more easy-going personable people youll meet. Hes has a very unique practical and artistic way of thinking hes able to apply to a wide range of professional scenarios.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been a natural teacher & coach my whole life. As people continued to come to me to teach them what I was doing it just became more important the even running my primary business - so I switched courses and haven't looked back.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Hire a good person first and foremost. If you hire someone that genuinely has your best interest in mind, you'll get benefit. Nobody is perfect, but anyone willing to give you their best will be able to provide something of value. Conversely, hiring a very capable person who doesn't genuinely have your best interest in mind will rarely prove fruitful (in my experience).
