FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was inspired become a Nutrition Consultant when my own health improved through a whole foods, plant-based diet. And while I knew that this was the right ethical choice for me, I never expected that a plant-based diet would afford me a range physical and psychological benefits. The chronic migraines that had plagued me since childhood were soon a distant memory. My skin, which had been acne prone since teenage years, suddenly cleared up. Asthma attacks that once sent me to the emergency room were no more. The unrelenting pain and inflammation associated with my nerve disease, CRPS, decreased substantially, and I enjoyed an unprecedented two year remission from symptoms. Astonishingly, my symptoms of depression abated. In addition to these victories, adopting a whole foods, plant-based diet helped me heal from years of disordered eating, as it has for countless others. I learned to relish the feeling of nourishment that came from eating plant-based food, leading to an intuitive relationship with food and acceptance of my body. It was clear that food was at the root of my medical issues. But I didnt understand the science behind nutrition and the mechanisms fueling the changes I observed in my body. In 2012 I decided to pursue a Nutrition Consultant degree to learn the whys and hows of nutrition so that I could help others transform their own health. Through my education at Bauman college, my research internship at the respected nutrition authority NutritionFacts.org and in working with diverse clients and workshops, I gained the insight I sought into nutritional therapeutics and disease prevention and mediation. I am now thrilled to apply the science of nutrition in helping clients achieve optimal wellness.

- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently created an allergy free meal plan for a family of 5. Everyone was thrilled with the results, and I'm glad that this whole family can now enjoy healthful, safe, fun foods together.
