FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As a dependable and experienced photographer, my commercial creative fee hovers around one thousand dollars, but both shoot production and some post processing is included in that. There are jobs I'll do for less (usually business portraits, restaurant shoots, and family photography) and some that warrant a higher rate. Please ask for the rate you think is fair!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically want to hear the clients version of the project first, in detail. I'll do a little research and come back with an email that demonstrates what I understand about the project, and provides a few examples of work I've done that demonstrates my ability to fulfill their objectives. In some cases, I'll develop a mood board that takes their idea and expands it with a few options. Then phone call to both hammer out details and get a sense of our working dynamic. Then shoot day/s and sending out 'contact sheets' and a first edit. Another call or email to discuss the picks from the shoot and what edits/deliverables are needed. Invoices are sent, and final proofs are emailed or posted online.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm both a trained photographer with years of experience, and a professional retoucher and photo editor. I have also done styling/wardrobe/set design/makeup+hair/ and most of the other jobs a photo shoot demands.
