Very unprofessional, stated a project would be done on time and then changed her shipment time, she doesn’t even do the digital printing herself- it’s shipped out and she charges an ungodly amount for it. Would not recommend.Aug 15, 2019VerifiedKellie Pierre Design's reply
False. This is could not be further from the truth, which every other review will beautifully express. At 1:00 PM on August 14th, this customer told me she wanted ACRYLIC invitations designed, printed, and delivered to her by August 23rd. The ungodly amount she mentions was $12.50 per invitation, plus tax and shipping. She did not want to pay for shipping, claiming it didn't cost a lot to ship from Brooklyn to Florida (but it was more than she wanted to pay). I said I would cover the $20.00 shipping. I should have known then, that this wasn't a person I wanted to deal with. I also explained to her that for this type of project, I do not do the printing. I personally design, print, and handwrite all of my projects, except for projects like this one, which requires equipment I do not have. I am an independent designer, this was my first request for acrylic and the printer is around $5,000. I sourced several different printers, looking for someone who could get the job done in a week. It's a tough ask but I'm a people pleaser. At 3:40 PM, I explained to her the challenge with the printers and told her to make it happen, we would have to have everything finalized by NOON on August 15th to meet her deadline. I sent my invoice at 10:52 am on the 15th, as I had yet to hear from her. At 12:45 PM she said she left the wording on her laptop and asked if she could send it to me after work. My response: Oh no! I understand, but please send it asap. BECAUSE IT WON'T BE SUBMITTED TODAY, A DELAY IS MOST LIKELY TO OCCUR. (At this point I am assuming her original deadline was not firm since she did not appear to be in a hurry to get the information to me.) She sent her invitation wording at 3:18 PM, (24 hours after I originally stated we would have to submit ASAP) making it impossible to submit to a printer and have it considered approved the same day. After several edits, I will admit, I misspelled Karaj and she had her mother's name misspelled, we had a final draft. Mind you, I had spent the day designing options for her, even downloading a new input source, the Gurmukhi keyboard, to recreate a religious symbol that was included on the invitation. When I told her I could not confirm the delivery date until the morning, she said she would not pay until then. So she wanted me to place the order, pay for it, and hope she would pay me. This was most definitely my mistake. I have never done this much work without a deposit or payment and this is exactly why. Not only did she refuse to pay me, she also came on Thumbtack, a community where I have worked very hard for my Pro status and wrote an untruthful review. I did everything I could to help her meet her deadline and she was ungrateful and spiteful, the worst kind of person. Stay away from this kind of person and customer, but don't stay away from Kellie Pierre Design! I'm a hardworking creative who prides herself on going above and beyond to meet the needs of my customers and EVERY ONE OF THEM WILL TELL YOU THAT. This woman was not a customer. She was a thief, who stole a day of work from me. Shame on you, Ruchi. Shame on you.
Kellie was such a pleasure to work with. She responded very quickly and was able to deliver such beautiful stationery for my mother in law. I would recommend her to all of my friends. She was so creative and professional. Thank you so much for the beautiful gift.Jan 31, 2020Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Pricing is based on the specifics of the project. Each project is assigned a base price with the option to purchase add-ons. Also important to note, I am located in Brooklyn so there are shipping costs involved if the customer is not local.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Communication is key! In our initial conversation, which can occur via email or a phone call, I want to hear about the customer's vision for the project, the details, and timeline. I will then review everything, and send the customer the projected timeline with due dates for tasks. As soon as the timeline is approved, the project begins.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work? When seeking the type of services I offer, which are embedded with creativity and thoughtful considerations, it is important to remember the process that occurs to achieve the final product. I also suggest being upfront about your budget. Often times there are options to fit every budget (within reason) but if you don't share that information, you may miss out!
