What types of customers have you worked with?
We mainly do audio/video-to-text transcription for a variety of companies and individuals, from graduate students to reality TV studios to medical equipment manufacturers. We provide the customer with a product exactly suited to their needs, and at the lowest possible cost. Whether it's a one-on-one interview, or a 15-person focus group; whether it should be formatted as a screenplay or in a table for editing--we can do it. We regularly add timecodes for reference, as the client needs it. Other services include timecode syncing, interview / focus group summaries, and general technical assistance on a case-by-case basis.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Beyond quick turnaround times and excellent customer service, what more can you ask for from a service like this? When choosing from several options, it really comes down to the quality of the product you're getting. Transcription is a deceptively simple task. On the one hand, you think it might just be about capturing the words a subject is speaking. But it's actually much more than that. A good transcriber is able to capture much of the extra information inherent in human speech that is lost when full human speech (body language included) is reduced to text.
