- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely! I maintain my ServSafe certification for safe food handling, and have recently been certified in ServSafe Allergens (food allergies). I am a member of American Culinary Federation and am pursuing pastry certification. I am also a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals, and Dessert Professional.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a trained painter. I hold a Masters in studio arts. I always loved baking, and in a lull in my painting and teaching career, I decided to give serious thought to baking and pastry. It turned out to be an even more satisfying career that painting. It IS a creative endeavor, after all.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I get lots of requests for tarts and pies. I also make awesome European-style rustic breads.
