FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a set standard price list for portrait commissions based on number of figures (ex: how many pets, people) and size, starting at 12"x12" single figure at $100 plus tax fees. I offer 5% discounts and no tax to veterans and military service members. I also offer small discounts to returning/frequent customers. FREE SHIPPING! FREE MURAL ESTIMATES!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
FOR PORTRAIT AND PAINTING COMMISSIONS: I require a $40 deposit. I work with the commissioner/buyer to come up with their ideal piece, taking into consideration the following: background, exact photo replica or aspects from multiple photos, additional content (example: dogs favorite toy) to come up with a design. I then complete the painting, often sending photos of the painting process as I am working on it to ensure customer satisfaction. Upon completion I accept the remaining payment in full and immediately either ship or deliver painting for free. Pick up is also available if preferred. FOR MURALS: This process varies based on space and commissioner. Mural estimates are completely free - I will either come visit space in person or require photographs and dimensions of the space and discuss ideas and desires with potential customer. If we decide to move forward with project I would then submit a small scale rough sketch of design to customer for them to approve before moving forward. I also provide clients with a satisfaction guarantee statement and a small amount of paperwork to protect both client and myself to ensure both parties are completely satisfied with the process and product.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Fine Art, as well as a Masters Degree in Creative Arts Therapy and over a decade of experience working in fine arts and over five years experience working professionally in the mental health field, mainly inpatient psychiatry and inpatient rehab. SIDE NOTE: Ethically, I cannot work with/for and/or create any artwork with any current or previous patients I have worked with as a Creative Arts Therapist, whether through my private practice on an outpatient basis nor through any inpatient facilities.
