I’m really disappointed by the services I paid Vanessa for (partial planning and day of coordination). Leading up to the wedding, I asked Vanessa to find a couple of vendors. I always had to keep up contact. I was never given updates if days or weeks went by without me initiating. I had asked for places that would be available for a rehearsal dinner. She told me to give her a week. A week went by and I never heard anything. I was tired of trusting that she would come through. So, I found one myself. Never even got a progress email. I’m not sure she ever even looked. Forward to the day of. She made my sister in law run around the whole morning/afternoon and told her to do things to set up. My sister in law traveled from Georgia to Pennsylvania to celebrate our day with us. Of course, she wanted it to be perfect and not stress me out, so she did as she was told. DURING the reception, I was told she had my sister in law and brother fetch my allergy free cake from down the hill. She had two other assistants with her. I’m not sure what they did all night. There was no coordination during the reception. At one point, I had three vendors including her, coming up to me at my sweet heart table, asking me what was next and telling me the other vendors were throwing her for a curve ball. She didn’t know what was going on and was asking me instead of COORDINATING with the vendors. It was a very stressful 20-30 minutes as I was basically doing her job of telling everyone what do next on my wedding day. The timeline during the reception was was off because, again, no coordination with the DJ. Which was her job. Everyone left early because they were bored. When we had a meeting for the run-through six weeks prior, she took no initiative to help with the flow of things at the venue. She stood there until I asked her a question. I had my caterer actually do a run-through of flow at the venue the day before during the rehearsal as the caterer usually coordinates weddings on her own at her venue. The bar was not set up in time. During cocktail hour, everyone (including my guests) were helping bring up the alcohol from down the hill where it was stored. She never called my bartender for details before the wedding. He had no idea what was going on at first. He pulled through being the reliable person he is. Everyone had to work around Vanessa. It completely unacceptable she had my guests setting up which was her JOB. I was even up until 1 in the morning the day before setting up as much as possible to take the load off her back. At this point, I’m thankful I did that. She stuck my in/laws in the corner, which was not where they were placed on the seating chart. So disappointed with money wasted with something I could have just done myself and had asked my guests so they expected to come help and not get thrown for a curve ball expecting to relax at a formal event they were invited to.Sep 30, 2019Verified
Vanessa was simply amazing in assisting with and planning our wedding. She is organized, punctual and fun to work with. Vanessa lived out of town but still took care of all the logistical details for me and set up meetings with vendors. On the day of the wedding she was prepared with a timeline and made sure everyone stayed in schedule. Everything ran perfectly smoothly and I couldn’t have done it without her.Dec 28, 2018
Vanessa did an excellent job as my day of coordinator. She was always responsive to my many emails leading up to the big day and took care of everything! Vanessa was prepared to help in every way possible. She dealt with all my vendors so I didn’t have to deal with anymore stress. I would highly recommend her to make your day even more memorable!Oct 26, 2018
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Package prices are a starting point. All packages can be customized so prices may be higher or lower than initial quote. For an exact price it is best to talk in more detail about what you are looking for.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I start about by explaining the various services that I offer. I will ask the customer to fill out a short questionnaire that allows me to gather more information about their big day. From there, we will discuss what they are looking for and I will put together a custom proposal and quote.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have taken numerous event planning and design courses through the Wedding Planning Institute and the New York Institute of Art and Design. I have also organized and coordinated corporate events for the past ten years.
