"I am a Princeton alum with a BA in psychology and I have a JD from Brooklyn Law Schoool. I have worked in family law exclusively for the last 7 years in NYC. I spent one year as a law clerk to the Hon. Matthew F. Cooper in a dedicated matrimonial part in New York County Supreme Court. After that, I went on to work for the top matrimonial firms in Manhattan known for successfully handling complex divorce matters involving high net worth clients. Recently, I left law-firm-life in order to work for myself offering legal consulting, divorce management and coaching, and related services (such as mediation) to clients at all stages of litigation (or potential litigation). My goal in-chief is to provide each my clients with the resources and individualized support necessary to navigate divorce/custody proceeding in the most realistic, efficient, and cost effective manner possible. By focusing my studies and career exclusively on matrimonial and family law, I have gained a vast knowledge and developed a highly specialized set of skills in this area of the law. This, coupled with my patient and practical approach to consulting, allows me to provide each of my clients with a unique, tailor-made balance of social, emotional, and legal support at a fraction of the “traditional” cost. My hourly rate for my services is $200/hour, and I do typically require a retainer payment upfront, the amount of which depends on the nature of the case and the work to be done. I also offer flat fee rates, which we can discuss during our interview if that is something you prefer. To put my current fees into perspective, the last law firm I worked at billed me out to clients at $400/hour (for the same exact services I provide and work I do now!). That being said, I set my fees where they are because they are commensurate with the skills and experience I bring to the table, and because it is extremely important to me that my clients don’t squander what assets they would have left after divorce on unnecessary or inflated legal fees.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a licensed attorney. I have passed the Uniform Bar Exam with a score of 284 and my admission is pending in New York and New Jersey. The only services that I am able to provide are consulting services - NOT legal representation."
