Introduction: I specialize in smaller events (under 50) in your home or office. If you need an executive event of a small personal dinner party at your home, I will work closely with you to find out exactly how you want your event portrayed and produce the best possible results. I specialize in farm to table with the use of all the wonderful products available in the Hudson Valley. I have also conducted many home-based cooking classes with the end result of a dinner which was cooked during the class. Plus, you'll have a good time doing it!
My pricing is reasonable, and I can create custom packages to accommodate your budget. References are available upon request.

Ms. bartholomew's love of food and cooking food reflect in her very meticulous way of preparing all food from appetizers to desserts. She prepared all the food for my small party of twenty five for my son's birthday party. Everyone wanted to know who i catered from and of course gave Mrs. B's name. the food is prepared under sanitary conditions and it is farm to table fresh. i was especially impressed with the way Mrs. B asked my input for each course and what i would like served and any other ideas. She is extremely competent and definitely knows her way around the kitchen. She will be doing my next catering job for work and the neighborhood Christmas party. Rock on Gerry

Gerry is the best! She worked with me to plan my boyfriend's surprise birthday party and everything was perfect. From the menu to the decorations and the actual day of execution, everything went smooth.
A little background information ... My boyfriend has food allergies, the most prominent one is gluten. A lot of people associate GF food with being tasteless and while I know that to be far from the truth, we have to be extremely careful with everything he eats as even a small amount of cross contamination can make him really ill. Gerry's menu was fantastic - a wide variety of hors d'oeuvres and excellent main course! My boyfriend loved it all and had no problems. Our friends who can be a little standoffish when it comes to GF food had nothing but good things to say; everyone was really pleased. The food tasted amazing, so fresh and very light for summer which is something I really wanted. The presentation was also very creative. My favorite was the caprese skewers with pesto drizzle. The pesto was so good and I loved how fresh everything looked and tasted.
After talking with Gerry a little, I found out that she is also available to assist with decorations. This was an amazing help! As we were planning the surprise party at my home, the set up needed to be quick (so I could get it done while my boyfriend wasn't home) but also fit the look I was going for. I also wanted to keep the budget for this as tight as possible. Gerry helped me pick a theme, find reasonably priced decorations and was able to plan some menu items around it also.
The day of the event also went great. Part of the reason I decided to cater this event, is because I am notoriously late. No matter how much I plan, I can never seem to beat the clock, especially when cooking. Gerry completely alleviated this issue and kept things running like clock work. Not only did I not have to cook, but I was also able to enjoy the party and never felt stressed for time.
I contacted Gerry about 3 weeks before I wanted to have the party and I think that was perfect for the group that I had (about 30). She was always quick to respond and very receptive to all of my ideas. For the quality of ingredients that she uses and the time/energy that she put into the planning process I think her pricing is more than reasonable. She was also willing to negotiate with me about the decorations even though it came up after the original quote which I am sure some people would charge an arm and a leg for. My whole experience with Food for Ten was really great, I cannot recommend Gerry highly enough. I will definitely be contacting her again!

Gerry catered my rehearsal dinner a few weeks ago. She did a phenomenal job. She expertly helped me pick a menu for the event and she took care of the rest. When I called, I had a basic idea in mind. When I got off the phone with Gerry, we had a full menu plan that I was pleased and excited to serve my guests. From that point on, I had nothing to worry about. Gerry took care of everything else.
Gerry was professional, patient, extremely kind and positive. A definite pleasure to work with. Our rehearsal dinner ran late and Gerry waited and kept the food hot until we arrived. Everything was nicely laid out and ready to eat very quickly. When I arrived, Gerry embraced me in a big hug and congratulations and greeted our greets in a most welcoming manner.
The food was really really really great. Everyone enjoyed it. I saw people going up numerous times to get more food. All through the night guests were raving about the food. Anytime I ever need a caterer in the Mid-Hudson Valley area, I won't have to wast my time searching for one. Gerry is the caterer for me and I highly recommend her for you.

Gerry did a wonderful job catering my 40th birthday dinner party. She was extremely flexible and helpful in suggesting a variety of choices for appetizers, entrees and sides and easily incorporated things that I love into the menu. My guests raved about the food and I was so pleased that I chose Gerry as my caterer for such a special event. Everything was wonderful and I would not hesitate to hire her again! Thanks, Gerry!

Gerry delivered generous portions of hot food on time. The corned beef and cabbage were excellent, the potatoes were average and the Shepard's Pie was good. The soda bread and bread baskets were very good and plentiful! I would use her catering service again! Gerry is very accommodating and pleasant to work with.
