Matt was really excellent to work with as the DJ for my wedding- he was very responsive, professional, and prepared during the planning process and made me feel very confident leading up to the day. The day off, he was punctual and helpful. He did a great job with the microphone and music for the ceremony, and then acted as the MC for the evening, keeping all of the events on schedule and providing nice background music for the cocktail hour and dinner. He played great music during the reception and many guests commented that he was super nice and accommodating. We had an amazing time at our wedding and Matt was an integral part of making that happen- I highly recommend hiring him for any event!

Matthew is the best. He is professional, personable, and great with the guest. So glad we got him for our surprise 40th birthday party for my son. He had a great mix of music that everyone enjoyed. Very reasonable and highly recommend matthew for any occasion.

I honestly can’t say enough about our experience with Matt from Sound Entertainment! He was phenomenal. And incredibly affordable. The value you get is worth so much more. From start to end, he stayed on point, helped keep guests on task and sticking to the timeline so we could all make sure we had time for everything. And at the end of the night when it was time for open dance, he did such a great job that EVERYONE was on the dance floor! I got so many compliments on how fun and great our wedding was. Matt was a HUGE part of making that happen. Incredibly impressed and very happy. If you’re looking for an amazing, affordable, professional DJ, this is your guy!

Would have chosen all the 5 star qualities but thumbtack only let me pick 3! Matt was the most responsive vendor at our wedding and leading up to it. He was right on time, self sufficient and totally in the zone. We had to switch up the order of our reception moments before our entrance and he pulled it off flawlessly! Absolute BEST DJ at an incredible price. Thank you so much Matt for helping us pull off our big day!!!!! Everyone should book him you will not regret it!!!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We pride ourselves on being the best value to our customers, not only in the Greater Rochester and Syracuse areas, but the entire State of New York. The quality of our service and our low pricing can not be matched anywhere! Our mission is to always SURPASS our customers highest expectations!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I begin working with a new customer, I meet with them to discuss the specific details of their event. At this meeting, we discuss the timeline of events, specific songs they would like played, age range of guests, procedure to handling guest request, and any special announcements they would like me to make. For weddings, each couple and I discuss in depth, all of the specific details of the night. I go over everything from the "pronounciations of the names of those being introduced", all the way down to what song they would like for their last dance of the evening. The conversation that I have with my customers, allows me to get a good feel as to what music they would enjoy during their event, and allows me to better prepare for their celebration!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from SUNY Geneseo College in 1998. I began DJing professionally in January of 1999, and have since, DJ'd at over 1,000 functions. I have learned something from each one of these events; and I bring that expert knowledge with me to each gig that I peform at today! My varied and vast experiences is what sets Sound Entertainment DJs apart from other DJ services.
