Incredibly disappointed with this person's lack of professionalism. I reached out to John to help me do the financials of my business plan. I spoke on the phone for almost 30 minutes describing the business and the job at hand. He assured me that he had experience to do what was necessary and also offered me a list of previous clients whom he worked with which impressed me. Based on the conversation he asked me to send him very personal documents which have to do with my investors and said he would read them and get back to me to discuss next steps. I thought I have found a very trustworthy competent person to help me with my job. However, he continued to give me a runaround. Never responding to me or picking up emails, or telephone calls. Now he was in possession of very personal documents but completely unreachable, not even a note to let me know that he was busy and wouldn't be able to take on the job...just nothing. I think this behavior is despicable and completely unprofessional especially when you have a business's important documents in hand. I would never recommend John Sheeley and I would advise anybody looking at this person to continue looking elsewhere. I have no patience for this kind of negligence.

Its important to note that no fee was collected from the potential client. I was to review where she was with her business plan and then offer a firm quote.

John Sheeley was happy to assist last year and in a professional manner every single time we discussed my needs and his qualifications. He is EA certfied, which is highly recognized by the IRS. Most Tax consultants do not have this certification. From what I've read regular classes and testing is required to become an EA certified Tax consultant and very few meet those qualifications. He is more current on Tax laws and requirements and will assist if a IRS audit is ever required. I found him and his office staff extremely professional. They were able to manage my last minute requests with speed and excellence. John accommodated my every need while reassuring me that time contstaints were not a problem. Everything went so well that my 1st visit actually completed my task, filing Income Taxes that same visit. Rates were reasonable and competitive. I am using him in 2016 as well and once again am very grateful. Behind again, somewhat new to this chore, and John Sheeley is available within minutes by text to respond to my needs. I have never met a more honest,earnest, concerned individual and will trust him with yearly taxes hereafter. Don't hesitate to use his services, you won't be disappointed. Sincerely, P. Boles

I prepare many tax returns for self-employed (freelancer) non-resident aliens living and working in New York. I also prepare U.S. tax returns for U.S. subsidiaries of foreign companies. We also have experience in the fashion industry, as well as experience with venture-funded startups.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure the Enrolled Agent has experience with your type of situation. Inquire if they are familiar with anything that brought you anxiety in the past. Ask for referrals from friends and colleagues you trust.
