Introduction
I have taught many students who have gone on to outstanding careers as performers and teachers. Two of my students are now members of the Metropolitan Opera in NYC, as well as many of my students who haver had leads in Broadway Musical. Elizabeth Southard was the female lead in "Phamtom of the Opera" on Broadway for three years, other sudents had lead in "Wicked", "Titanic", etc What I like about my job is my ability to help students achieve their goals to sing better and realize the potential of their natural voice. There is nothing more satisfying for me than hearing the results of what I teach, because of the diligence, and fine work of the student. If a student is not working to his/her ability, I will ask them to seek help somewhere else

Angus Godwin was my voice professor at Ithaca College for four years during my undergraduate studies. To be honest, he was my favorite part about all of my studies while at Ithaca. I could count on him to not only provide me with valuable expertise on how to strengthen my singing voice, but also to provide me with guidance on my music career and life overall. As a professor, Angus teaches voice in a clear, logical way. Prior to beginning my studies with him, I was having a very difficult time with my breath technique. I found myself clenching my abdomen, throat, and facial muscles, and standing with bad posture, all of which put a great strain on my body and my vocal chords. He showed me that breathing is a natural thing and no gimmicks are needed in order to use my voice properly. When I freed my body of this unnecessary tension, it was as though a new voice suddenly emerged from my mouth. From that point forward, I was and still am able to use and grow my voice in a natural, free manner. Angus was and continues to be an incredible mentor for me. I cherish the time we worked together at Ithaca and I am so glad that we have been able to continue our relationship beyond our formal studies together. - Ben Willmott (Ithaca College '05)

I studied with Mr. Godwin as my primary voice teacher for the better part of 14 years. If you are looking for someone to teach you how to sing correctly and healthfully for the rest of your life, he is the one. His knowledge is indispensable. His techniques are applicable for singers of all genres. He is a delightful person to work with and I should be so blessed to have a vocal career as fruitful and long lasting as his.

I had the good fortune of meeting Angus Godwin in 2005 when he stopped in at the recording services studio at Ithaca College where I was getting advice on the restoration of some of my past vocal recordings for a CD album. I began studying voice with him shortly after our meeting and it was his expert vocal training and concentration on the art of natural singing which helped to restore my voice and my confidence. I was struggling vocally for many years following carotid artery surgery during which one of my vocal chords was injured. It was his patient training which has made it possible for me to continue to sing today, for which I will always be grateful. In my opinion, he is one of the best vocal teachers in our area.......
