My clients not only gain confidence but also learn a much needed skill insuring employment in office support positions in any industry. My satisfaction derives from seeing a light go off in my clients head after I've described how a convoluted computer function works. This past summer I attended The Microsoft Word for Law Offices course given at York College CUNY and instructed by Cheryl Cuddeback. What surprised me the most was the versatility and complexity of the Microsoft program which Ms. Cuddeback organized into clear and learnable segments. Truthfully, I am still working on it (I didn't need it for my paralegal certificate which I already have), having just purchased a laptop with Word and able to work on it more extensively. Prior to that, I've worked on it segment by segment; now I want to try to put the entire assignment together in its entirety. Ms. Cuddeback was able to structure the course to handle a range of students with various levels of computer competency, a challenge in itself and presented the complexities in a fully comprehensible manner.

I took a class taught by Ms. Cuddeback in Word skills. She was a wonderful teacher who covered quite a bit of the curriculum despite having less time to teach the class. She was engaging and gave of her time after class to answer questions or clarify a point. The only drawback was the limited time, as there was more to learn.

I have a limited amount of knowledge when it comes to using computers. Cheryl made it easy and pleasant. She is detailed, she printed out notes, in advance, that I have kepted, and review. She showed me certain shortcuts, and cool things, that I will use in the future. She is very thorough, and very patient. Answers any questions you may have and is always willing to go over a subject again. She provided a wonderful service for me.

I met Cheryl at York College as my Professor for Microsoft Word for Law. I was impressed with her positive enthusiastic personality teaching the course. Cheryl has good interpersonal skills and is easily understood by students. She is extremely organized, always on time, reliable and very computer literate. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually travel to my clients' preferred location, whether it's in Manhattan, Queens or Long Island. Usually we meet in a clean quiet public area, such as a library or even a coffee shop. Sometimes we work together in their residence. I choose from a variety of lesson plans I've created to meet my clients' needs. I come prepared with hand-outs and instructions then demonstrate a variety of functions using sample documents on my laptop. My services also include telephone assistance and additional instructions that I email as attachments when needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My college degree is in Art History which obviously has nothing to do with computers. Maybe it's because I was not an A+ student, that I went into teaching. I find that if I teach want I need to know I know it better. Then when PCs came onto the scene I found my passion.
