- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My cakes start out at the following pricing for specialty and wedding cakes: $5 per serving for buttercream or cream cheese frosted cakes $7 per serving for fondant cakes Depending on the complexity of the cake design requested the price per serving will reflect the amount of labor needed to create the cake.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started out in culinary school because I was certain I wanted to be a chef and a restauranteur. But while in school I got a part time job as a bakers assistant and fell in love with the world of pastries and sweets all over again. I had always been an avid home baker but once I started experimenting with fondant and gum paste and saw the possibilities and the opportunity to combine my love of creating art and creating amazing tasty treats I realized I finally found my calling.
