We had the most amazing meal by Chef Gerard - he came to our AirBnB early and on time, cooked an amazing 4 course meal with seasonal ingredients. They brought our appetizers out to us where we were having cocktails outside, then plated all the meals beautifully. He also used local ingredients and breads, described the process and where things were sourced from. He was excellent in the timeliness of the meal, the meal itself, and the cleanup process. Was very responsive in the weeks leading up to our event in terms of creating the menu. Excellent value compared to the other options we had! Will absolutely be reaching out to him again and referring him to anyone who needs a private chef experience.

Details: Brunch / dinner party • 6 - 10 guests • Dinner • Premium (high end ingredients) • Italian • American - formal • Meal prepared onsite • Only once • My home, venue, etc.

Chef Gerard prepared a meal for 16 people and the entire experience was top-notch. The food was delicious - several of the attendees remarked on how good it was. I was also impressed by the quality of the service - he and his server did everything, including cleanup. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a private chef for a special event!

This was my first time hiring a private chef, and I am so happy to have chosen Chef Gerry, who planned, prepared and cooked a delicious and special 4-course dinner for our group of 8 in celebration of my sister's bachelorette. Gerry was thoughtful offering a menu of options tailored to my sister's food preferences, and was accommodating in making modifications based on preferences and dietary restrictions. I also loved that he focuses on sourcing seasonal ingredients from local Hudson Valley farms, and that many of the dishes highlighted these ingredients! The day of, he was flexible in accommodating an earlier start time. The preparation, cooking, and pacing of the meal (not to mention the food itself) was excellent! And he and his assistant left the kitchen spotless. Overall, Chef Gerry and his assistant made the dinner such a memorable, unique and special experience and was a highlight of the weekend. I would highly recommend him to others!

Details: Special occasion (birthday, anniversary, etc.) • 6 - 10 guests • Dinner • Premium (high end ingredients) • Dessert • American - casual • American - formal • Italian • Asian • French • Meal prepared onsite • Only once • My home, venue, etc.

Chef Gerard was an absolute delight. We hired him to cook a special dinner for my sisters bachelorette weekend and the whole evening was memorable, not least due to the absolutely superb food. From the initial contact, I let chef Gerard know that this was a big outside of my experience, and he guided me to choose styles of foods and menu items to fit a theme of ‘street food tapas.’ On the evening of the event he arrived at 5 on the dot with his sous chef Ellie and they got to work whipping up amazing dishes including perfectly cooked shrimp al ajillo, Thai spring rolls, tacos, three unique salads and the best gluten free apple crisp I have ever had. There were so many special sauces that elevated the food to next level good. They left the kitchen sparkling clean and disappeared into the night. We will never forget this special evening.

Details: Shower (baby, bridal, etc.) • 11 - 20 guests • Dinner • Premium (high end ingredients) • Dessert • American - casual • Mediterranean / Middle Eastern • French • Meal prepared onsite • Only once • The personal chef travels to me

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Pricing is customized to the clients budget, needs and tastes. Since I don't carry a inventory of ingredients like a restaurant or catering hall, I prefer not offering a typical menu package. Its a very personalized service. However, usually for smaller parties and dinners, the per person food budget includes menu consultation, cost of ingredients/food shopping, personal chef cooking and kitchen cleanup. It typically doesn't include a server or bartender. For parties of 6 or more I recommend a server, unless its a buffet or the client prefers to be more hands on with table set up, pouring beverage and table service.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

As a personal chef, before I offer menu suggestions, I prefer to learn as much about my new customers (especially the guest or guests of honor) and their food preferences and cuisine interests and those of their invited guests. Its always helpful to gather in advance their likes, dislikes, allergies, preferred flavor profiles (i.e. spicy, mild, Asian, Mediterranean, Latin American, Middle Eastern, European, American, Italian, French). It also helps to know what they enjoy eating most (i.e seafood, beef, poultry, game, pork, lamb, vegetables etc..

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I’m a graduate with honors from CIA in Hyde Park, NY. I’m also serve safe certified.
