- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Atlantic Building Inspection Service must maintain a certain amount of continuing educational credit hours per year to maintain our New York State license & our status with all the national Home Inspection Associations. We attend several seminars per year, attend classroom study & monthly educational meetings.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of our clients that contact us are looking for a building inspection for property they intend to purchase or sell. Ninety percent of our clientele are people who are purchasing pre owned homes. There are other ancillary jobs requested by our clients which we perform such as wood boring insect inspection, radon analysis, septic system dye testing & well water flow & bacteria testing if it is a private water system.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for someone with years of experience, all home inspectors & inspections are not the same. Atlantic Building Inspection Service went through hours of comprehensive training, classroom study and pass extensive written examinations. These exams are not taken at home in front of a computer with an open book. They are held by an independent Testing Network. We must maintain a certain amount of continuing educational credit hours per year to maintain our New York State license & our status with the American Society of Home Inspection (ASHI). Be sure to ask the inspectors how much experience they have and if they are New York State Licensed Home Inspector & belong to one of the prominent national Home Inspection Associations in the country like the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).
