There are not enough room nor time to write out all of the positive things that I would like to say about Dennis & his guiding service, D.C. Outdoor Adventures. I've been a client of his since 2004 or so, and have hunted, fished & scuba dived with him several dozens of times, and I keep going back because he is simply awesome. Some details on that: His level of commitment is stronger than any other guide I've ever used. He does everything he possibly legally can to ensure that you have a great, safe trip. His knowledge of game locations, movement, habits, etc is top notch, and he utilizes that skill to put you on game as much as humanly possible...no man can guarantee nature's full cooperation, of course, but if I've ever had a low scoring day then 99% of the time it was because I missed, period. That is how GOOD he is at providing opportunities for his clients. If things ever aren't going as hoped for & it's a slow day, many guides will throw up their hands and say "oh well". But not Dennis...he will pretty much always find ways to do something differently, or move to a new location etc etc, to improve things. That is how DETERMINED he is at providing opportunities for his clients. He has decades of experience on the water, and his knowledge of tides, winds, and currents is impeccible, and that not only aides him in finding game, but more importantly it allows him to safely get you in and out of areas without becoming stranded due to the tides, or swept onto stone jetties. There are many dangers out there that novices do not know about, and a professional like Dennis keeps you safe. Another point regarding safety: As the guide and Captain, he has set rules for safe firearms handling, discharging, direction of fire, orange clothing requirements, etc, which he takes time to clearly explain to everyone so you are all as safe as you can possibly be. If you've ever hunted waterfowl then you know how difficult it can be to properly identify different species, and to therefore know whether or not you are permitted to shoot at them. One little mistake can land you in jail, and / or with a hefty fine & loss of equipment and hunting licenses. That apprehention is a lot for a novice to deal with, and it does not make for a fun hunt. But Dennis' ability to expertly and quickly identify waterfowl species and call the shot / no shot will amaze both novice and experienced hunters, and will keep you out of jail. When he says "take em!", you can be confident & relaxed in the the knowledge that you are in full compliance with the law when you pull the trigger. His advice over the years on equipment and tactics has been astounding; I am constantly learning from the man. You often hear the cliche of "He goes the extra mile", and often times it's just a figure of speech. But in Dennis's case, it is the truth. You will not regret booking a trip with this man; I never have in almost a decade!
