We wanted to create a montage of our children's lives thus far to be shown at their B'nai Mitzvah. It was a complicated project, as we had literally thousands of photos and videos to select from---we were overwhelmed, and didn't even know where to begin the process. Charles did a fantastic job of helping us figure out how to organize things---both in terms of helping select what kinds of things would work well, and more practically speaking, how to most easily present the media to him in a way that he could run with it. With only a small amount of guidance as to what we wanted the product to look like (we'd seen some other things he'd done, and intentionally worked with him so that we could benefit from his creativity in putting the piece together), Charles did an outstanding job. He presented us with a couple of minutes of draft footage to get our take on things. That feedback was then incorporated into a full montage of photos and video that far exceeded our expectations. You typically see montage presentations like this in a formulaic fashion, with a bunch of pictures and some video, and redundant transitions that get old quickly, along with some cliched music. The piece we got was entirely original, with an unusual "soundtrack" that was cleverly integrated into the visuals (e.g. the intro to a Coldplay song overlaid on video of the kids playing a toy piano as babies), with unique and varied transitions. He added "cleverness" to a piece that normally doesn't feature any. The 12 minute piece did a fantastic job of capturing viewers' attention by telling the story of the kids' lives in a fun way. We got great feedback from our guests. In addition to a great final product, Charles was a pleasure to work with---he did a great job of balancing his own creative input (which we wanted) with also respecting our vision of how we wanted things to come out. And it all came at a very reasonable price. We'd recommend his service without hesitation!

Charles is absolutely fantastic. I am a documentary filmmaker, and needed an editor for a unique project. Charles completely understood the project right away, and was able to bring a strong voice and perspective to the work. He was such a pleasure to work with and is truly talented. I'm looking forward to working with him again.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I currently use the most recent hardware and software for producing this type of imagery. I am constantly researching new techniques for the particular needs of each photograph.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been taking photographs as long as I can remember. And what I do doesn't feel like work, so the answer is... forever!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I shoot interiors for property listings building exteriors in large format for diverse uses including large mural prints and web site catalogs.
