St Catherine A.M.E. Zion Church commissioned Piero Manrique to paint a mural of The Last Supper in our Church in New Rochelle, New York in June 2015. Piero met with our Pastor, the Rev. Michael J. Rouse and me to discuss the execution of this project. From initial sketches to final completion of the mural, Piero was wonderful to work with. He worked meticulously for nine hours a day, cleaning up after each work session and completed it in two weeks the contracted time. The Mural is exquisite. His painting of the each person is amazing with passion and beautiful skill. Our congregation has viewed this mural many times claiming their overwhelming love for it. His talent is a gift from God. Our company was looking for a mural artist to paint two pieces of artwork at our new office location in Long Island. After reviewing the work of many local New York artist, we came across Piero Manrique's portfolio on Thumbtack and were immediately impressed. Unlike other artist who quoted on the job without visiting our site, Piero came out to our future office location, thoroughly discussed the concept, took photos of the mural walls and gave us digital visualizations of the project. After some back and forth e-mails and a final proof was approved then Piero quoted on the project. Based on his previous projects we expected our job to be a bit small for his time however Piero was eager to add us to his portfolio and gave us a very reasonable price. The work was completed in the time estimated and everyone who walks in to our office is immediately drawn to the murals in our reception area and conference room. Where do i start, Thumbtack put me in touch with close to 10 different artists in my area. Piero & his partner Meg, happened to be our first meeting and despite knowing he would be the guy for the job we still decided to at least entertain the other appointments we made. After meeting with nearly all of them, my business partner and I decided to go with Piero. We were aware with some of the work he has done as he showed us his portfolio but on top of that he was very humble and confident in his work and we knew he would be capable of delivering us a piece we could be proud of. We also loved that he was excited and enthusiastic about taking this job on. We never got that vibe from the other artists. You can honestly tell Piero loves what he does and the detail and patience he has in unparalleled. We hired him for 2 separate murals in the same office. From the very start he was patient with us when it came to adjustments to the renderings and somehow he was able to put together exactly what we wanted just based off of our ideas. We own a real estate office in Astoria Queens and we always had the idea to draw a detailed map of Astoria from a perspective view. This map has so much detail and had to be scaled correctly in order to give that perspective view. The dimensions were approximately 30 Feet wide x 13 feet high so needless to say this was really going to stick out and take up a large section of our office wall. Piero not only delivered a perfect master piece but the art work he incorporated was simply amazing. Piero & Meg spent long late hours to get this job done but never rushed a single part of it. Everyday putting up the scaffold and being very neat in the process which we definitely needed them to be. They were extremely well organized & professional throughout the entire process. This piece truly came out flawless. The second job was in our conference room where I had the idea of drawing a black and white image but almost looking like a newspaper animation of the street outside of our office. This mural was about 15 feet wide by 12 feet high consisting of people walking on the sidewalks, the subway line, our building, cars, street signs, landscaping etc. He was able to take a picture outside and draw it identical if not better on our conference wall but also giving a perspective view. Everyone that comes in our office has to stop and take a long hard look at both murals and when I tell them it isn't wall paper and that someone actually hand painted this, they simply don't believe me, so I had him sign the bottom :) Thanks to Piero our new and modern office is now complete with these two masterpieces! If you are looking for an artist don't bother interviewing or looking elsewhere, your search ends with Piero. He is a master of his craft and I have no doubt he will exceed all expectations! FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I discuss with a client the theme, color palette and desired dynamic of the art they have in in mind. I also review photos of the space in which the art will be placed. Then I create a design rendering for the client to consider.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied fine art at SUNY Purchase, and architectural design at Parsons The New School for Design.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with both residential and commercial clients to create murals and paintings custom-designed for their space. I have also created a backdrop for a fashion photo shoot and reworked logo graphics into large scale installation pieces.
