FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every floor is priced by square footage and by what the concrete needs before coating. A garage that's bare, clean concrete costs less than one with a failing coating that has to come off first — I've seen two identical-size garages come in hundreds apart for that reason. My price is all-inclusive: diamond grinding, crack and pit repair, 100% solids epoxy base, full flake broadcast, and a polyaspartic topcoat. No add-ons at the end, no surprise fees, and a lifetime warranty on the system. I give all estimates in person. It takes about 20 minutes — I measure, test the concrete, show you flake samples, and leave you with a firm written price. Free, and no pressure to sign anything that day.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. We talk. You reach out, I get back to you the same day. I'll ask about your garage size, what's on the floor now, and your timeline. 2. In-home estimate. I come to you — evenings and Saturdays available. I measure the space, check the concrete for moisture and existing coatings, and bring flake samples so you can see the color blends in person. About 20 minutes. 3. Firm written quote. You get the number before I leave. It's good for 30 days, and it's the price you pay. 4. Install day. Two-days, start to finish. I grind, repair, coat, broadcast flake, and seal. You can walk on it that evening and park on it in 24 hours. 5. After. Lifetime warranty on the coating. If something ever looks wrong, you call me directly — not a call center.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've spent the last five years as a construction superintendent running commercial job sites on Long Island, managing trades, inspections, and quality control on projects where the work has to pass real scrutiny. That's the standard I bring to garage floors. On the coating side, I've trained on manufacturer-specified application for 100% solids epoxy and polyaspartic systems, including moisture testing, concrete profiling, and mechanical surface prep. Every floor I install is diamond ground with a 7-inch segment grinder — I never acid etch, because that's the shortcut that causes most coatings to peel within a few years. Rapid Coatings is fully licensed and insured, with a COI available on request.
