When my tenant informed me that tiles in the shower were falling off and there was mold on the material behind the tile I was very concerned. The stress of finding the right person to correctly do the job and satisfy my high expectations and more importantly complete the job within my tenants time expectations was overwhelming. My wife recommended Thumbtack and that is where I found Camilo. Camilo came out to look at the job and worked with my tenants schedule. He was skilled in the scope of the work and what needed to be done to do the job correctly. (removing all tiles and material behind the tile, new insulation, wonder board and tile for the entire shower) He quickly turned around a quote and was willing to work with me on price to meet my budget. Scheduling a time frame to do the job was easy with Camilo's constant communication. After the job was complete to my satisfaction, my tenant noticed an issue with the shower fixtures. Camilo and his team came back and addressed my tenant's concerns without me having to worry about it. Appreciate the professionalism Camilo. Barry

Alex was a life saver. I need 2 new Andersen windows to be installed. he did an amazing clean professional job. I built a new home and two windows installed by my framer were defective and started to let water in the bedrooms. it damaged the sheet rock and insulation. as you can imagine I was very upset. Long Story short I found Alex's inspection of the problem made me think I will take a shot with him. He removed the bad windows so gently that I did not need new stucco work only replace the window trim out side. he completed the sheetrock work and it was good as new. im so happy I hired him. he is very meticulous and gives you great advice. I also had him install 2 deck stair cases (trex) , another excellent job.

I have worked with Dane several times over the past couple of years. He initially fixed an old faulty heating system. The system needed to be replaced but Dane was able to fix it . It worked fantastic. In addition he insulated my windows and repaired the window frames. Since then he has made a variety of repairs in my home big and small. He is always prompt, courteous professional and completely knowledgeable. Whenver I need anything done Dane is my first call

the problem was fixed, but it seemed like an electrician should have figured it out quicker than Jason did. I had blown my kitchen lighting fixture. There are two dimmer switches, the master and the 'slave'. Jason spent the first hour replacing these outlet switches with new ones I'd purchased. That didn't fix the problem, so he was ready to have me order another entire transformer. I called the manufacturer and explained what had happened. They told me the transformer has a toggle switch that prevents the transformer from being damaged. I flipped that switch and the fixture worked perfectly! So, I don't know if the transformer switch would have fixed it immediately, or if putting in the new dimmer switches was also needed. I just wish Jason had thought to test the transformer before spending over an hour changing out the dimmer switches.

The last winter in Ringwood was one of the coldest I have ever experienced. This prevented water from coming into the house making life quite uncomfortable. Also, a lot of my pipes burst due to the dip in temperature. I didn't want the same to happen this winter so I invited 1 Stop Plumbing and Heating to install preventive measures. They performed a comprehensive evaluation of my home's plumbing system. They checked the unheated areas of the water supply lines and insulated hot and cold water pipes in places where it was necessary like my garage and under the kitchen cabinet. This insulation helped to guarantee that my pipes are protected from freezing during cold spells. I appreciate the effort of the team.

I have a 6-story facade that had cracked, as a result of hurricane sandy, the roof had leaked, getting into the house and damaging everything. Water dripped from the gutter seeped into the walls and caused heavy damages. The walls were damaged with mold getting inside, with peeling paint from the facade. We needed to re-do the brownstone and fix all the damages. within many quotes, high tech was within my budget. Up and foremost, the roof was re-layered to prevent any more damages. The facade was chipped off (about 2 inches) from the wall applied portland cement and scratch coat. There were many details missing from the window sills and facade that High tech handcrafted and restored. Shaiful explained to me that it would be best if the cornice would be painted, and restored with all details and design before applying the final-coat brownstone. He stated for best results the facade should dry and cure, the longer the drying process the optimal the results. After the drying process, they did the final-coat, the cornice looked great, and all the designs were handcurved. The walls, inside of the house, the sheet-trock was removed, patched, and new insulation placed with new sheetrock. With such a major project on-going, I had a wonderful experience!

These guys do excellent work. Crane insulated siding and windows were installed by their crew and I'm very happy with the results. Installing flat foam insulation first, really work, the house stays nice and warm on the coldest days. Great work and hard working people.

The experience with Jerry was amazing. First of all, he was on time. And not to mention very kind. I asked for him to install a game console, and to tidy up the wires that were dangling behind my entertainment center. He not only did what I asked of him, he fixed other little things as well, i.e. the cable wire that was detached from the hallway wall. I asked for him to install my pull up bar and he went above/ beyond with that. He didn't leave until he made sure that I would be safe while using it. I had a t.v. fuse blown while Jerry was here and he took care of it for me. And he didn't charge me an arm and a leg. His prices are some of the best in the city but most importantly as a customer, he wants you to get every penny's worth of excellent customer service. And because Jerry is an one stop shop kind of guy, anytime I need anything fixed or installed I will be calling him.

We installed a heating, cooling system and had insulation installed in the attic. It was an extensive project, and Building Sciences LLC. they kept us informed every step of the way. We got a 10-year 0% interest loan, which was more then other contractors were offering (24 months only). We also got $5,000 worth of weatherizarion and insulation paid for by the NJ Clean Energy program. Building Sciences is a participating contractor. Others were not. The install crews were clean and professional and cleaned up after themselves. So we are really pleased we did it this way. It was more effort, but so worth it. We highly recommend Building Sciences!!!!

I have used Caro Construction for four major projects now, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them for all of my future jobs. This is a brief outline of some of his work for me personally from 2011 to present: 1. Apartment conversion: I had need of carpentry services to remodel and convert a large apartment I own into two smaller units. This required putting up walls, creating a new entryway and hanging doors, planning and installing a kitchen, and remodeling a bathroom. 2. Kitchen gut/remodel: This job was instigated by a water leak and an insurance claim, but we had the kitchen gutted to the studs and joists from the ceiling down. Mr. Caro worked in tandem with my insurance adjuster to handle the job on my behalf before I arrived in person to see the final result. He was very professional and the results were fantastic and economical. 3. Frozen pipe insurance claim: I had a hot water baseboard heating pipe in the wall burst in the middle of winter in one unit of a 4 unit apartment building. Mr. Caro once again worked in tandem with my insurance company to make repairs to the affected second story unit as well as the unit immediately below. This repair required subcontracting for plumbing repairs and flooring replacement, tearing out and replacing walls, insulation, and a ceiling. The job was done very quickly and very well, and when part of the insurance claim became an issue (some materials were not replaceable due to age - ceiling tiles from 1960) he worked with me to creatively and economically resolve the situation. 4. Replace front entryway stairs and porch repair: The entry to my 4 unit apartment building had stairs that were not mounted correctly below the frost line and they moved and rotted as a result. He tore the stairs off, leveled the entire structure, made some minor repairs replacing some floor boards and all rails, and built a new, level, much better staircase. 5. Many miscellaneous repairs and interior remodeling and finish work: over the years of getting great service from Caro Carpentry, I came to depend on him for all my maintenance and repairs for both my house and my 4 unit apartment building. I have found him to have excellent communication skills, accurate bids, and he’s very honest and pleasant to deal with. He was very professional in his dealings with me, with other contractors he brought in for specific stages of the work in progress, and gave frequent progress reports as well as communicating the next steps during the entire process. I was very pleased with the end results of all my projects. The quality of his subcontractors was also such that I have used several of them several times for other jobs, as well.
