I’m Nikola, an award-winning fine art and documentary photographer. I was specialized in stage and theater photography but through the years I start implementing my skills into documentary and portrait work.
For the last 10 years I'm actively engaged in freelance fashion, portrait and wedding photography.
I graduated with a degree in graphic design and I’m trying to bring that creativity in my images experimenting with different use of color and light. On the other side my theater photography roots draw me to dynamic compositions and dramatic moments.
Beside the joy and pleasure I have working with happy couples and people in love, I also found wedding photography to be a great playground to mix all the influences and skills from a different photography fields.
Because a great photos are not made in the camera but on either side of it, I’m always trying to help my clients with all aspects of planning a photoshoot, from the idea, location and useful tips to the final execution.
My usual after photoshoot workflow includes narrowing down the selection, color correction of selected photos, and creating a private online gallery to make it convenient to go through them and share with family and friends.
At the end, the only thing that matters to me is making pictures that make people feel and react to them.

Nikola is super responsive, highly professional and captured my secret proposal wonderfully! He coordinated with my friend about the plan and I met him on the day a few minutes before the proposal. From the get go, he made me feel relaxed and calm. He was really kind and provided excellent suggestions for the framing of the shot and where to stand etc. During the proposal, he captured a lot of wonderful photos, without being seen (my fiance only saw and met him after the proposal).
After the proposal, Nikola was very understanding about the kind of photos we wanted to shoot and obliged to our requests. He's an excellent photographer who ensures that you're not awkward during the shoot and keeps things very natural during the big moment!

The best photographer! He agreed to help us out last minute and was so flexible and great at communicating. But beyond professionalism the pictures are absolutely stunning. Nick expertly posed us while scouting interesting backdrops, quickly changed lenses and captured every angle, and edited the pictures so beautifully. There’s so much character in his photos that can’t be replicated by another. The lighting, angles, motion, everything! If you want beautifully composed photos you have to shoot with Nick. He really knows what he’s doing and is a true expert. He shot our engagement photos and we couldn’t have asked for more.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'm honest with my clients and open about how much something will cost, with no hidden fees.
I understand the budgets and limits but I also think the good quality should have the right price.
I value my work and time, and always try to give more than expected, but most of all I value my clients that understands and appreciates that.
That's why I'm giving my best to find the way to make it work for both.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet my clients, personally or over the phone, understand what they need and hear their ideas. The years in business taught me that mutual understanding is the key thing for easy and fun work process, great final product and satisfied client.
I'm here to help with the ideas, creation and execution.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a self taught photographer. I took the harder way but that gives me a privilege to polish my skills in my own way of thinking and seeing.
For first 4 years I worked on various photography assignments just to get the knowledge and practice, most of the time with no money. I consider that my photography school.
Beside that I'm graduated graphic designer with 4 years of experience in that field.
