My husband and I hired Suad at Skyluxe for substantial renovations to our newly purchased multifamily home in Jersey City, including fully demolishing and building several new bathrooms and a kitchen, and changing the layouts of various rooms. The result is a home we absolutely love—beautiful, cohesive, and crafted with care.
Due to the scope of changes, we worked with an architect and submitted plans for city approval. While the approval process was occurring, Suad and his team diligently performed all work able to be completed while waiting for the approvals. After the initial approvals were obtained, he coordinated with inspectors and promptly and meticulously completed the project and received final inspection confirmations.
Moreover, as unexpected issues arose or we had new ideas outside the scope of the initial agreement, Suad helped to advise on solutions quickly and transparently and consistently provided fair and reasonable prices and timelines for completing additional work. For example, we found out that the space above the top floor was an unused and unfinished attic crawl space. Suad provided a reasonable proposal and coordinated with his team to help us create access to the attic and turn the space into a great, finished attic crawlspace, creating substantial storage capacity with a professional look.
Additionally, Suad has a lot of connections to other contractors who can help with products and projects. For example, we used Suad’s connections to order new high-quality windows at a materially lower price and quicker turnaround time than other window contractors we had been reviewing. Similarly, we discovered that an oddly shaped wall on several floors was covering a chimney that took up room space for no benefit, and Suad connected us with a contractor who was able to remove the chimney, and then Suad’s team patched up and painted the walls.
The primary portion of the project ultimately took around six months due to the need to wait for and receive regulatory approvals. Throughout the project, Suad and his team remained incredibly responsive and solution-oriented, with Suad personally visiting the property multiple times per week to inspect the work of his workers and advise them on further steps to take and matters that required clean-up. Moreover, we were given flexibility to adjust work to better match our vision, and Suad would direct his team to make such changes without issue. We always felt informed and supported, and the entire experience was far less stressful because of his calm, steady approach.
We would recommend Suad and Skyluxe without hesitation to anyone seeking a contractor who is skilled, trustworthy, and truly invested in their clients’ satisfaction. We were able to trust his creative talent as well as his management of our project. He has a natural eye for what works visually in a space and that honed expertise was valuable to us as we navigated our first-ever home renovation.
