I had a short window to find an illustrator for my book. After interviewing several illustrators, when I found Masami I immediately knew she was the one. What I found most impressive about Masami, is her ability to listen. While I lacked the artistic vocabulary to expressly communicate my ideas, I had to instead communicate how I wanted potential book purchasers to feel at first glance of the book. Masami, listened attentively, took notes and nailed it on the first draft. I am also thankful for Masami's professionalism and customer service. She met every deadline presented without fail. She was receptive to feedback. Last but not least, she offered professional suggestions that could potentially enhance the book's marketability (tones and colors). My book is available for purchase in October. Often, for novice authors, the book cover is just as important as the content of the book. Simply, put 80% of book purchasers, purchase books at first glance after reviewing two things: (1) Abstract written on the back of the book and (2) The book cover; Like they say, "You never get a second chance to make a first impression". Thank you Masami for guaranteeing my first impression will be an 'impressionable one'. I look forward to using you again for the sequel.

We hired Masami for a quick turn around on eight character illustrations for an animation project/pitch to film and streaming studios. I cannot begin to describe how pleased we were with her Comprehensive Design sensibility; her broad spectrum business and communication style; her ability to nail the complex color design of each character while still making each one completely different from the next. It’s like she knew the subtle differences and quirks that made up each character, with little or no input from us. It was uncanny! Masami is one of the most gifted artists around and an absolute joy to work with—and I should know, having worked in advertising and the film business for over 30 years. Do yourself a favor and hire this woman!

Pricing vary based on each project, but I am flexible and open to negotiate. I ask for half up front and half and the end.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always talk to the customer before beginning any project to get a better sense what they need and how much time their project should take. Based off of that, we can determine a price.
