FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My legal fees are "flat-fee", which means that you will know from the beginning how much your case will cost. My fees are reasonable and I offer payment plan options.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My interest in immigration law began during an immersion trip to Mexico in college more than 15 years ago. Standing on the Mexican side of the border on the beach in Tijuana and staring at the names and ages posted of the many people who had died trying to reach the United States, I became overwhelmed at the thought of how desperate people can be to come to this country, and how lucky I was because I happened to have been born here. When I later studied international refugee law, I realized even more that I was being drawn to working with and helping immigrants in some capacity. Many years later, I am pleased to say that I have now been an immigration attorney for 10 years and it is still my passion.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I keep a map in my office with pins representing all of the countries that my clients have come from. These include Australia, Mexico, Colombia, Honduras, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Ireland, France, Philippines, Liberia, Mali, Bangladesh, Brazil, Netherlands, Portugal, China, India,Senegal, Uganda, U.K., and Thailand - among others. Some of my clients need a green card through marriage or other close family relationships. Some are seeking asylum or are fighting deportation in immigration court. Others are small businesses who want to hire a foreign professional on a temporary or permanent basis.
