FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have and undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota. I have a Masters and Performing Artists Diploma from Mannes Conservatory in NYC and I've trained as an Alexander Technique teacher, using the principles of the technique to enhance my teaching. I've had 15 years of experience working with all ages and experience/ability levels. My youngest was a 2.5 year old and my most advanced student was the principal flutist of the NJ symphony!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always enjoyed all kinds of music since a very young age. It's always been a part of me.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Growing up in this area and having to find teachers myself my advice is to find people that are credential and happy/inspiring people. I struggled with teachers I often surpassed in ability and they were a bit 'old school' in their ways of teaching which made them rather inflexible and 'mean'. It wasn't very inspirational.
