Welcome to SAKI Vocal Studio! I am a singer, actor, and vocal instructor based in NYC. I was an adjunct faculty at New York University Vocal Performance program. I received Master in Music and Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from NYU, and serve as a member of National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and New York Singing Teacher's Association (NYSTA).
At New York University, I taught private voice lessons to students from beginner to advanced singers. My goal is to find your "authentic" voice so that you can sing in a healthy and sustainable way across the genres (classical, music theater, pop/rock, R&B/soul, country, etc.) I currently work with various singers like recording artists, singer songwriters, musical theater actors, opera singers, Vtubers, church soloists, voice actors, and etc. If you are interested in Japanese songs (J-POP), I am happy to teach them too. I will cater my lessons to your needs! I also studied voice science (vocology) through the NYU Voice Center under the SLPs and Laryngologists, so I understand how the vocal system works. I will provide explanations that make sense using anatomy and physiology!
My teaching style is “tailor-made” for each student and their development. We will find what works best for your instrument. Since singing is a combination of technique and expression, and is very physical and emotional, I aim to help each of my students gain that balance to become an effective communicator and storyteller. In our lessons, we specifically focus on:
*Unlocking voice and least amount of work to release "airflow"
*Basic fundamentals (breath energy, resonance, and vault/space)
*Physicality and acoustics (source/filter balance, alignment)
*Musicianship (accuracy, phrasing, reading scores)

*Provide a toolbox to adjust their instrument
*Making the voice flexible to let dimensions and colors come out

I am passionate about teaching and sharing what I have learned as a singer and actor. Most importantly, I create a safe space for you to share your art and inspiration. We will work together to free your voice and open up the world of possibility. Singing is an incredible way to grow confidence even if it's merely a hobby or extra curricular activity!
