Wills and Estate Planning
I had the pleasure of working with Jason on creating a trust for my family. I had interviewed several other estate attorneys but immediately felt comfortable with Jason’s demeanor and knowledge. He was very attentive to our needs and guided us through the process very skillfully and was impressed with his ability to listen to how we wanted our trust structured and how he was able to implement these contingencies into a document that we felt very comfortable with. Even with the challenges of having to do all of this over phone and Zoom conferences we were able to complete the process very expeditiously. Would recommend him highly as we are very happy with the outcome!May 29, 2020VerifiedLaw Office of Jason D. Jones, P.C.'s reply
Thanks very much Hunie!
I'm an independent financial advisor that consistently needs to work with attorneys on their estate planning needs. Jason is the consummate professional. He's not only knowledgeable on the subject matter, but empathetic, responsive, and likable. I would be comfortable referring Jason your clients. He'll take very good care of them and their needs.Mar 2, 2019
Legal Document Preparation
You will not find a better, smarter, more professional attorney than Jason. My experience with Jason was great. I could not ask for a better Attorney. If you need an attorney, call Jason and hope he’s not completely booked. I hope he is. You want this guy to represent you in any Legal Matter he says he can do. You will not be disappointed. He is a rare find.Apr 19, 2020Verified
Jason was responsive and took the time to understand my case, and fought for my side. He made my first experience dealing with an attorney much nicer than expected -- highly recommend.Apr 19, 2019Verified
Jason prepared a will, power of attorney, and health care proxy for me. It was the first time I'd executed any of these documents, and he explained the related requirements and procedures clearly and thoroughly. We got trough the process quickly and efficiently, and Jason provided thoughtful and effective guidance on a couple of unusual requirements. In all respects, it was a pleasure working with him, and his fees were quite reasonable.Mar 9, 2020

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Based on whether you need estate planning (preparation of documents such as Wills) or estate administration (probate) I charge a reasonable flat fee rather than an hourly fee. I will quickly provide you with a free skype or phone consultation and a retainer that outlines how we have agreed to work together. Only one half of the legal fee is due contemporaneously when you sign a retainer; the other half is due once the project ends. Discounts may be given on a case by case basis.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I always provide a free telephone consultation for prospective clients, follow that with an estate planning questionnaire and then provide tailored estate planning documents and/or petitions to the client via a shared folder. Next, I consult with the client and answer all his questions patiently. Lastly, I finalize any documents required and arrange to meet for the document signing ceremony which I provide for free and can arrange to meet the client at a place of his or her choosing. When this ceremony ends, I provide these documents to the client, along with providing ancillary instructions on how to keep them operative and current.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Tons. After graduating from Yale University with a B.A. in literature, I worked as a paralegal at a major law firm in New York and then traveled to Japan where I lived and worked while earning my M.A. in Japanese literature. Once I returned to the States, I worked again as a paralegal with a view towards entering law school, where my focus area was trusts & estates planning. Once I graduated from law school and after being admitted to the NY bar, I worked for domestic and international law firms before opening my law office in January of last year.
