Lessons at your home are $125 (up to 1 hour). Online lessons are $75. I'll teach you to play any style of music you love on piano, guitar, bass or ukulele, and develop great musicianship along the way. Want to play Bach on the piano? Want to accompany yourself on guitar while singing songs? My job is to use YOUR musical interests to design goal-oriented lessons which make you love learning and practicing. I have 23 years of success teaching kids and adults. I have a master's degree in Music Education from NYU, and a bachelor's degree in Music Theory and Composition. I have a passion for experimental, classical and rock music, and a very fun rock band called Pinc Louds.

Mark's teaching is flexible, enthusiastic, and professional. He caters every lesson to my individual goals, preferred genres, and learning approaches. In lessons he often uses specific songs as springboards to teach general techniques, which I find very helpful. He's also very accommodating with scheduling.

Marc is my first music teacher and has convinced me that it is never too late to learn something new! I wanted to learn to play ukulele as an adult, but I didn’t know where to start and had never played an instrument. After a couple lessons I can actually enjoy playing my favorite songs. He makes the lessons fun and has a lot of patience too.

Marc is incredibly professional and very well educated! He takes the time each week to customize my lesson around the larger goals we’ve set together. Can’t imagine taking lessons from anyone else. I hear he has a pretty rad band that he plays with as well! You should absolutely set up some time with him soon!

I'm happy to write a review for Marc. My son Henry has worked with Marc for two years, and in that time he has come to LOVE playing instruments. Marc teaches Henry BOTH piano and guitar. Lessons are lots of fun for Henry, as Marc teaches him to play popular songs which he already knows, and motivates him to learn classical music and good classical technique also. Marc even organizes recitals in Manhattan!

I offer in-home private lessons for $140 per lesson. (up to 1 hour)
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will find out what music you love, and use this knowledge to make a goal for our first lesson, including a practicing assignment. We will engage with music you love right away, using materials (sheet music) which I will create and annotate for you, and teach you how to read.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Master's Degree from New York University, where I studied Music Education, Theory and Composition. I have 23 years teaching experience. I have a classical piano and rock guitar background. I'm presently the keyboardist and bassist in the band Pinc Louds.
