- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our wedding packages are all inclusive and include the session fee, album, gift prints, and digital files from the album images. Select packages also include engagement sessions. We want to make sure the customer is satisfied and not facing extra charges for everything. All selected images for the album, prints, and digital files will be developed and color corrected. We offer upgrades to digital files of all selected images, extra prints, metal prints, canvas prints, and album upgrades. We can also create an ala-carte package to a customer's specific needs. Wedding photography has a 3 hour minimum. For event photography, we have a two hour minimum that includes developing the images and posting medium size (1800 pixel) images in an online gallery for the client. We can enable online ordering for guests to order prints, which will be shipped directly to the guest. Portrait sessions have a 1 hour minimum and include developing the images and an in-person proofing session.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We prefer for customers to meet us in our studio or we can go visit the customer. We make sure to get a shot list and walk the client through the process from shooting to final delivery. For portrait sessions, we go over locations, outfits, and tips for having a successful photo session. We have a list of standard locations we recommend or can use client suggested locations. For event and wedding photography, we go over the timeline and coordinate with other vendors, such as a party planner or DJ to make sure we understand the flow of the night. A shot list is very important and will also be created. The client will have an in-person proofing session in our studio 2-4 weeks after the shoot to go over proof images, see example products, and start the process of ordering their included products or any additional products.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started taking photos in college and spent many years doing landscape and cityscape photography. Four years back, I made a change to switch to people and event photography for a faster pace and more interesting jobs. We started doing photo sessions with our friends and started growing through word of mouth.
