FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally tend to keep my fees at a minimum — I know how hard it is to even find time to get your family together for a shoot, and that process is stressful enough. A flat fee within your budget covers everything: the shoot, the editing and high-resolution digital files you can use for whatever.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First thing I establish is a timeline: we're both busy, so it's important to get on the same page immediately about how soon you'd like to get your photos taken and how soon you'd like to have the edited images in your inbox. Next, I want to know what style of photos you'd like: do you need a new headshot for your LinkedIn profile, or do you need to get your family together for this year's Christmas card? Whatever the purpose, I'll help you figure out what's going to work best for you. After that, we'll talk about location and set a date, and that's about it!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a full-time multimedia journalist, which means I shoot, edit and produce photo and video on a daily basis for a newspaper in upstate South Carolina. I went to Syracuse University for journalism, and have always shot as much as possible during my free time.
