Writing this review in a way that accurately depicts the depth of our gratitude for having found Robin (and now actively working with her on our total home handicap accessible remodel) has proven to be challenging for us. The challenge comes in trying to convey to you (the reader) just how many layers of challenges Robin has been faced with within the boundaries of our project in ways most would never even realize. We can wholeheartedly share that Robin has risen to EVERY challenge in ways that have FAR EXCEEDED our expectations. We don’t normally EVER write reviews until a project (of any kind) is complete, but without question, this review is the exception for us. As Robin’s birthday approaches, we knew we wanted this heartfelt review to be our gift to her as it is SO well deserved. My husband of 21 years and I came to Robin in a state of discouragement, frustration and exhaustion as a result of all that life had thrown our way by this time. See, I just turned 50 and I have a condition called Spina Bifida. After 46 surgeries, and being very mobile most of my life, I’m now in a wheelchair due to the natural progression of my particular conditions. Before meeting Robin, we had struggled terribly in our many attempts in the past to plan a handicap accessible reno with previous contractors that also aesthetically met our standards. One contractor after another we found ourselves getting nowhere & living in a house for the last 2 yrs that was 3/4 packed. This was all in an effort to pack up the house in preparation for what we had hoped would be an upcoming reno. Before we met Robin, our efforts in the past with previous contractors just never went through and it seemed as if we had set out to do something next to impossible…until we met Robin. Now, let me also SEVERAL other layers of challenges to the picture for you here. At the age 24 I was formally diagnosed with PTSD. At the age of 32 I was formally tested and diagnosed with ADHD. Recently, at the age of 49 what I had known all my life was confirmed through extensive testing that I in fact had Autism. To top it all off I have something called Aphantasia. It’s literally the inability to visualize anything without having a physical object or picture in front of me. Imagine trying to work with a client as you plan a handicap accessible reno and your client does not have the ability to envision the end result. Challenging? I’d say so. I share all of this bc with these immense challenges that impact my day to day interactions with others regularly, also comes emotional dysregulation. Basically, it’s the inability to manage emotions in a socially acceptable way in response to what is perceived in MY brain as a high stress, high anxiety situation. This basically results in me oversharing, becoming emotionally stifled if I think I’ve disappointed anyone and easily irritable due to the intensity of the overwhelm I experience in any situation that puts me outside my normal day to day routine. Turns out the process of renovating (stressful for anyone) does not lend itself to successful emotional regulation. Fun times lol. So you have to understand that Robin isn’t JUST having to juggle and piece together the puzzle (or Rubik’s cube as she refers to it) of a handicap accessible reno which in and of itself is SO CHALLENGING. She’s having to also manage the intense impact this process is having on ME in a way I’ve never experienced before nor did I see coming. Is the process fun? YES! Is it stressful by its nature? YES! However, Robin may be surprised to find out that due to the fact that I have a difficult time verbally expressing my emotions in the moment, I have not expressed to her that in my eyes, she has TRULY been a gift from God. I wholeheartedly believe God knew what He was doing in intercepting with our previous attempts at a reno before meeting Robin. Robin has not only introduced us to a team of contractors that have been nothing short of exceptional and perfect for our job, but she’s also been the voice of reason for me when I’m spiraling and can’t find my center (NOT a fun experience let me tell you). She’s been the person who steps in and basically assures me that it’s all going to be ok and that in the end everything will fall into place as it should. She’s never judged me for whom it is I am nor the challenges I face. She’s never tried to change whom it is I am in this process and instead has worked WITH my challenges. She’s never tried to work against those challenges asking me to conform to her ways. She’s ALWAYS adapted to MY needs. This for me, has made ALL the difference in my experience of this process. Most recently, I found myself in a situation where after she had worked her tail off to help us make our initial selections for our bathroom and kitchen, I pretty much came to her and said “I’ve changed my mind - we need to start over” bc THIS is the nature of aphantasia. It wasn’t until we got everything home after about 24 hrs that I began to see that what I chose wasn’t actually what I thought I really wanted! Robin’s response to this as well as my upset and disappointment in myself was SO compassionate & professional. She assured me that nothing was set in stone and that we weren’t stuck with anything. We modified our approach to the next round of selections and she proceeded to assure me that she was happy to work with me in whatever way made it easiest for me to envision the end result. Quite frankly, if that were I, I may have very well quit on my client right then and there (lol) but as she always has from the very beginning, she was once again the voice of reassurance, calm and a center for me to find my breath and show myself the grace I deserved. I often don’t acknowledge all the challenges I’m up against and rarely ever show myself ANY grace as I often encourage others to do for themselves. Instead I tend to come down REALLY hard on myself & end up melting down and crying for anywhere from a few minutes to sometimes days such as has been the case recently. Hence, the emotional dysregulation. However, it is because of Robin’s reassurance, compassion and centered energy that I find myself showing myself the grace I (and we all) deserve. In addition to Robin’s demeanor and ability to go with the flow, Robin is incredibly creative in helping us see spaces in our home in a whole new light, but she’s also incredibly talented in the way she recreates those spaces. We haven’t even begun our remodel yet and we’re so incredibly impressed with her ability to use what we already have in our space, and make it work with the new elements we’re about to introduce. Our budget which presents its own challenges, has never been an issue to her and she’s always ready and willing to adapt and modify at any moment. All the while, she assures us that the end result will be beautiful and that it will all work out in the end. These are just some of the many attributes we adore and admire about her. Although I realize that a designer’s level of expertise is key in anyone’s decision to hire them, I can assure you that we have quickly discovered that in the midst of the stress of a remodel where there are more details, factors and decisions to consider than you can even begin to imagine, working with someone like Robin is such a blessing. I can assure you that Robin will make the journey not only very manageable but truly enjoyable and exciting. She will support you & reassure you through the really rough spots and celebrate with you in the really exciting times as well. She has an incredible eye for design that I have learned not to question (and trust me we have given her a run for her money as we are very much control freaks and want what we want. God bless her!). So, if you’re on the fence, let us just give you our two cents … hire her! She’s SO worth it! Thank you Robin :)

Robin was truly a pleasure to work with. She went above and beyond what I asked of her. After having worked with several other designers, I will only be working with her going forward. It's evident how much she cares about her work. I can't say enough about how she transformed my space into something I didn't think was possible. Truly amazing.
