Introduction: A lot of guitar teachers have a background in popular music, and never really had a rigorous musical education. In their lessons they often have a hard time teaching abstract musical concepts, and end up just teaching "guitar," not really teaching "music." In addition, they often have trouble with younger students who learn in a much different way.
Since I am classically trained, and I have a degree from an elite conservatory, I have the background and skills to not just teach "guitar," but to really teach "music." I work to give students a solid grounding in musical fundamentals, that will benefit and enrich them for the rest of their lives. In addition, I have a lot of experience with very young students, and really understand the techniques needed to help them learn music.
I love helping students discover the joys of music, and the fun of playing the guitar. I feel incredibly lucky to have had musical lessons growing up, and the study of music has enriched my life in so many ways. To be able to this on is very rewarding.
