- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The general Real Estate Commission in the Westchester area is approx 5%. There are many ways to negotiate this amount. Be sure you know how the percentage that you will be responsible for when signing a contract. When buying, there is usually no fee, but sometimes is it necessary to charge a nominal amount.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Explain the process first. Let them know up front what the options are. Then take them through the steps as they come to us.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every real estate agent in NY must complete 22.5 hours of education every 2 years to renew their license. I go to the my local Board of Realtors (HGAR) and attend all my classes in person (vs. on-line). Although on-line might be easier, you don't get the same camaraderie learning and having collaboration with other brokers, agents and educational professionals.
