Dmitri and his crew are top notch professionals. I will be hiring them again for future work on my house and recommending them to friends.

This was a $20,000+ bathroom renovation, and unfortunately, the level of professionalism, communication, attention to detail, and respect for our home did not come close to what we expected for that kind of investment. In the end, the experience was simply not worth the money or the stress we went through.
1. They ordered the wrong parts and made us deal with the consequences. They ordered the shower head, handle, and sliding-door hardware in black, despite me never telling them I wanted black. I had specifically sent pictures showing the metal finish I wanted—brushed nickel. I was then expected to replace the parts they had ordered incorrectly.
2. I was barely consulted about how my own shower would look. I repeatedly explained that I wanted the fixtures and finishes to be metal/brushed nickel. Despite this, the finished shower has an ugly dark-brown square drain that looks completely out of place. I communicated my preferences multiple times and felt like they simply weren't listening.
3. The shower head is ridiculously high. Neither my husband nor I are particularly tall, and I specifically pointed out during installation that it looked too high. My concern was dismissed. Now we have a shower head that is genuinely difficult for both of us to reach. Completely avoidable.
4. Getting basic product information became a battle. I asked for the product links for the products being used more than five times, both in person and through text. Having to repeatedly ask a contractor for something as basic as a product link during a $20,000+ renovation is ridiculous. It wasn't until my husband personally spoke with him that he finally listened. Everything seemed to require fighting tooth and nail for something that should have been simple.
5. The price suddenly increased by almost $5,000. The night before the work was supposed to begin, I was told the original quote was wrong and nearly another $5,000 was being added. A major price increase at the last minute, without proper discussion beforehand, was extremely frustrating.
6. He repeatedly entered our home without knocking. He would simply come barging into the house as though he lived here. Knocking before entering someone's home should be basic courtesy.
7. Our garage was turned into a work area despite being specifically told not to do so. My husband is a physician and has a demanding work schedule. We repeatedly explained that we needed access to our garage and vehicle in a timely manner and specifically asked him not to set up shop there. He did it anyway.
8. Communication was terrible. He was frequently rude, didn't respond to my texts, and wouldn't answer my calls—unless, of course, the subject was getting paid.
9. Showing up on time seemed to be optional. There were numerous occasions when he didn't show up when expected, showed up significantly later, or simply didn't show up at all. We repeatedly had to chase him down to find out when he was coming, despite rearranging our schedules to accommodate the work.
By the end, I was simply exhausted. I finally stopped fighting for every issue to be addressed because I just wanted them done and out of our house. I even reached out to other people to see if someone could finish the job, but by that point it was too late and we were essentially stuck.
That is what makes this experience so frustrating. We paid over $20,000 for this renovation. For that kind of money, you should not feel like you're begging your own contractor to listen to you, chasing them for basic information, rearranging your life around their schedule, or having to bring your spouse into conversations simply to have your concerns acknowledged.
I would recommend against using A Plus Contracting if you care about your sanity. Spending over $20,000 should buy you more than a renovated bathroom—it should buy you professionalism, communication, accountability, and the basic respect.
