Guitar Lessons

Have had lessons with Jimi little over a month. He understood what I would like to learn and gave me good suggestions and exercises to help me improve. I felt I have improved the most from having the lessons which I look forward to every week.

Guitar Lessons

Jimi responded quickly and helpfully to inquiries on behalf of my teen nephew. We have only begun lessons but it seemed apparent that Jimi had the experience necessary to assist him in preparation for auditions and general knowledge.

Guitar Lessons

I've had several guitar teachers over the years, and Jimi is by far the best. Really knows his stuff, especially theory (and actually makes it fun), very easy to work with, and takes your personal goals seriously, catering his lessons accordingly. Highly recommended.

Guitar Lessons (for adults)

I'm only 4 weeks into my lessons and I must say that I truly get my money's worth coming to Jimi. Being a rather shy guy, I was a bit nervous to meet Jimi but he is one of the most genuine and welcoming people I have ever met. Jimi is truly passionate about music and his students and is committed to helping you achieve your goals. I have learned a tremendous amount from Jimi in these 4 weeks--more so than the past 4 months that I played before actually taking lessons. With Jimi, I now have a firmer grasp on how music works through theory and scales. Basically, Jimi is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to music. He possesses a wealth of knowledge ranging from music theory to ear training and is very well cultured on different styles of music. I've watched him play parts of songs from an array of genres BY EAR, from Shinedown's "Sound of Madness" (hard rock), to Ghost's "Cirice" (heavy metal), to REO Speedwagon's "Keep On Loving You" (soft rock), to Rancid's "Fall Back Down" (ska/punk). Every time I saw him play a song by ear, my jaw dropped in awe. So if you live in Long Island and you're looking to learn technique, improvisation, soloing, theory and/or ear-training, Jimi Durso is your go-to guy! It's worth every penny.
