- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For an introduction lesson, plan on being at the barn about 15 minutes earlier than your lesson time to fill out paperwork. You can expect to spend half an hour just working around the horse, brushing it and getting to know it, you will also talk about your goals and what you'd like to accomplish with riding. Whether it be competing or just knowing how safely take a horse for a trail ride, we can help! Then you will get on the horse and ride for 20 to 30 minutes. You don't want any longer, you will be quite sore the next day. Horseback riding activates muscles most people don't use everyday, so expect some muscle soreness the next day depending on your fitness and health level. Finally you will take aftercare of the horse which means put all the equipment away and brush it, give it some love for being a good horse. After your introduction lesson you can expect half hours lessons to be an hour of barn time, and hour lessons to be an hour and a half of barn time.
