Chris Smanto Photography is a cutting edge, out-of-the-ordinary photography company specializing in photojournalistic style wedding photography and event photography. Chris also specializes in concert, nightclub and band photography. Chris has photographed some of the top DJs in the world such as Paul Oakenfold and Paul van Dyk, as well as local DJs such as Evan Evolution, Todd Thibo and Freddy B. Chris has over 26 years of experience in photojournalism. He was first exposed to photography in high school and quickly learned the ins and outs of the art form. Soon afterward, he became the head photographer for the North High Viking newspaper at North High School in Akron, Ohio. After graduating high school in 1993, he enrolled at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh earning his Associates Degree in Photojournalism in 1995. He then went on to work the next 11 years at the Record-Courier newspaper in Ravenna, Ohio, working his way up to head photographer shortly thereafter. Working at a newspaper, you have to think fast you name it, I've probably shot it. These are the types of situations that make me the photographer you are looking for.
