FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do a trial lesson for free. If you like how I teach and care to sign up, I do weekly lessons that I charge $100/month. I ask that you pay at the beginning of the month as my time is valuable and if you happen to miss your lesson it will not cost me the time that could have been given to another student.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I would first establish how advanced you - the student would be. If you are a beginner, my first lesson would be without the piano, and with worksheets and possibly homework. The homework would continue as well as practice, and include remedial music theory and aural (listening) skills. However a basic understanding of the fundamentals of music is a very important process that will aid in sight reading the notes on a staff and keyboard. It is vital to have that necessary knowledge to understand how to play the piano. If you are more advanced, I have many different pieces of music to choose from to learn ranging from beginner to advanced. My area of expertise is classical music. I, personally love it. It is a divinely beautiful music that music today does not touch. However, that is only my opinion.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bacherlors degree from Bowling Green State University. I graduated in May of 2001. I majored in music education. My emphasis was voice, but I have been trained with piano since I was four years old. I actually don't teach voice anymore, but my knowledge of music theory is extensive and my expertise at the piano is so advanced that piano is a much better fit for me to teach.
