Introduction: Amber Rogers offers private violin and viola lessons in the Beachwood/Shaker Heights area. Amber Rogers has over fifteen years of experience in teaching all ages and ability levels using Givens, Suzuki, Orff, Kodaly, and Dalcroze methods. Students of all ages, from beginner to advanced, are welcome. I have over 15 years of experience in teaching and coaching privately and over 20 years of performance experience as a violinist and violist. I am qualified to teach a number of traditional methods in addition to having my own style. Music making demands and develops problem-solving, discipline, and focus and is a rewarding and intensely creative process.

Amber is a fantastic teacher for so many reasons. Here are a few: (1) She personalizes her lessons to your musical background, ability, and goals: I have about 20-years of piano experience that she took into account. She specifically selected repertoire and etudes to help fill in the gaps in my violin-playing ability. However, I also saw her successfully teach (several) (very cute) three-year-olds, who clearly were taught differently than I. (2) She keeps teaching, even after the lesson is over: She often sent me emails with extra tips/thoughts in the few days between my weekly lessons. When I had trouble learning a particular bowing, she did extra research online and asked her colleagues, looking for additional pedagogical techniques to help me. (3) She also keeps her studio well-stocked with many useful tools, including various tuners, chin rests, shoulder rests, and metronomes. She kindly loaned many of these to me so that I could try different things before I committed to buying them. Furthermore, when I was looking to buy a new bow, she graciously agreed to come with me to the violin shop to help me pick (free of charge!). Amber clearly cares deeply about her students, going above and beyond to nurture their musicianship. I would not hesitate to recommend her as a teacher.

Cleveland Violin Lessons responded promptly to my initial inquiry, immediately answered all questions I had, was friendly, encouraging, professional and very helpful. Was able to arrange initial lesson very easily without delay. First lesson was great! Teacher very friendly, instruction done very well for my level of experience, which was zero, until now. Very satisfied and pleased. Will continue lessons with Cleveland Violin Lessons as long as possible.
