The employees are very nice. The receptionist is great. The problem was with the quote and the punctuality. I had an appointment schedule from 12 - 1. I waited around for hours and no one came. The receptionist called me and said she could not get a hold of the repairman either. Finally around 4:30 she called and asked me to reschedule. They were able to come on a Sunday and did a great job.
It turns out, the repair man arrived at 10:30 am, prior to the appointment, and I was not home. They left a quote in the mail box, although he did not even look at the door. How can you give a quote without looking? And how do you show up an hour and a half early without telling any one?
The person who did the repair, said he could not negotiate and the quote that was provided is the amount he had to charge.
Its not good practice to give a quote without even looking at the repair job... but I paid it anyway because I was desperate.

Even a Single Star is too much. Quoted $150 total price, the Plumber showed and attempted to extort $700 from me. When I said no, he left. He came back a few minutes later saying the boss said to do it for the $150, which on follow up became a per hour price, not a total price. He would not commit to putting in two garden spigots in an hour. A YouTube Video shows it to be around a ten minute job per spigot. (All Parts on site, and I paid for them).
Handyman Connection's reply
We did not quote a fixed price. We told the client in the original quote we would need to see the job to give a firm price. In a series of back and forth emails we said it everything was in perfect condition it could be done for as little as $150. When our plumber got there he saw there were gaps around the pipes on both spigots so he suggested, he did not demand or extort, that we should spray foam inside the gap then put concrete in as well so the pipe would not be exposed. This would require another us buying more supplies and making trips to buy the supplies. She did not accept the offer. We give a one year guarantee on our work and we did not want to have the client upset if the pipes still froze after we installed the anti freeze spigots she purchased. accept the offer and as she says in her review we said we could install the spigots for the $150 but she wanted a guarantee it would not go over $150 and it would not freeze. We again said $150 was if everything went well and if we tried to remove the old spigot and the pipe split or any number of other things that went wrong happened we charge $100 an hour which is very reasonable for a plumber. Most charge $80 just to show up an do not do free quotes like we do. If she had let us proceed with the work and all went well we very likely could have hit the $150 estimated price but we were unwilling to guarantee we would not go over that price and it would not freeze again with the pipe into the home exposed still. There is just far too much that can go wrong with plumbing and it something did go wrong it can take hours and lots of materials to correct it.
