Jonathan is a very kind and knowledgeable dog trainer. He has patience beyond belief. He was very committed to helping our dog become better behaved , which in turn has made her happier and calm. He taught us how our dog thinks and how we should respond to her. He made us a booklet that pertained to the training he was going to apply. He also gave us a mini seminar to interpret what he had presented to us in the booklet. We left him with our wild dog "Bolt." She looked pitiful when we left her. She, however, was fast as lightening, flew over gates, did not run down the stairs but jumped so far she maybe touched 1, barked incessantly, and did her business every place we weren't looking. There was no way we were to going to walk her on a leash. We left her there feeling sad for her. As Jonathan would say, we gave her human emotions, and not dog emotions. We read the information and watched videos and looked at pictures that Jonathan sent us to see her progress. We were amazed that he was turning our Tasmanian devil into a well mannered lady. Training her is ongoing, but Jonathon gave us all the tools and information to keep it up. He gave her love and guidance. He gave us encouragement. Thank you Jonathan for your expertise and compassion!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I find the issues the client is having with their dog and I focus on targeting the underlying cause of these behavior(s). Then, I place the client and their dog on a behavioral re-modification plan that brings clarity and a solid line of communication between the client and dog, which renders a strong bond.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked with many clients to resolve their dogs’ behavioral issues. I have years of experience working with various training needs from basic puppy training to full blown aggression. I have numerous References, available upon request.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began working with and shadowing a Behavioral dog trainer, Mike Dixon, owner of Tristate Canine Obedience, in 2011. Mike trained me and I became certified in June of 2013. I started my own business, Dog Obedience Guy, LLC. In December of 2017.
