Estridge Carpentry lacks a lot to be desired. I hired them to perform some remodeling in my basement and to build a new pole barn. In the basement, they completely trashed the floor with drywall mud and their framing was not square in more than one area. The kid they had doing most of the mudding had no idea how to mud and it will cost me $1,500 to get all the walls re-mudded correctly before I can paint. Very slow and unprofessional employees. When they worked on the pole barn, their were two guys and neither had built one by them selves and the owner only came by a couple of times and the rest of his involvement was done by phone. He did not build the pole per the contract, so ultimately I basically fire him and refused to pay the full amount due on the contract. This also left me with numerous items I had to complete myself. I did call references that Mr. Estridge provided me and they all provided really favorable reviews. However, I have come to the conclusion that these references were either false or fabricated or that Mr. Estridge sent his idiots to my house. Total lack of professionalism, on the first day on the job, one contractor ran over my mailbox at the street and then drove off instead of coming up to the house and informing me of what he had done. So the next morning at 5:00am I discover this as I am leaving. It was obvious that the contractor did this with his dually truck as you could clearly see the tracks for 20 feet in the grass leading straight to the mail box. Their workmanship was terrible on the pole barn. The screws holding on the metal panels are not even close to straight. They did not use a chalk line to ensure the screws were straight. Some screws were on the ridge while others were in between the ridges. Made no sense why except they had no idea what they were doing and did not care about professionalism or craftsmanship. They scratched several panels. I would highly recommend that you fully investigate this company before deciding to go with them. I have dealt with many contractors in my career, and I am a Service Manager, and I know what good service is and workmanship are and these guys simply do not.
