Gorman Contracting & Maintenance Svs
We have an antique cast iron outdoor gas light (original from the late 1800's) which was in very bad shape and had definitely seen better days. The paint was peeling, it was dirty, and in general looked very bad. We hired Tim to restore it to its original beauty. Tim took great care in disassembling the lamp -- no easy task. There are many fragile components, especially the glass globe and milk glass dome which is original to the lamp. Tim stripped all the paint to the bare metal from the pole, washed it with a neutralizing solution, and applied an industrial strength oil based primer and two oil based topcoats. We decided to have the top (the "head" in correct gas lamp lingo) powder coated since that was removable and portable. Tim brushed on all the paint by hand, inserted a new gasket and reassembled the entire lamp replacing rusted screws with stainless steel screws to deter future damage from the weather. The result was stunning! A picture is worth a thousand words. Take a look! I have no hesitation in recommending Tim for any job that he feels he can undertake.
