- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We try not to make our pricing system difficult. Wedding cakes are priced by the servings ordered for tiered cakes. Buttercream starts at $2 per serving, fondant at $2.50. A few flavors cost a bit more and those are posted on our website. Another option is sheet cakes to supplement the wedding cake for larger guest counts. Sheet cakes are the same price as listed on the website, keeping in mind that wedding portions are smaller than party sized servings meaning you get more servings out of the same sized cake.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to try out cake decorating as an after work activity with some co-workers. I have long been interested in baking and art so it seemed I immediately took to cake decorating. I've pretty much been doing it ever since.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Our most common type of cake orders are wedding cakes. We love to do party cakes too! But usually wedding cakes are book far in advance.
