Dj Ak

Introduction: Born January 20, 1990 in Cleveland, OH, DJ AK was born with a natural interest in music. AK was first introduced to music in 1998 when his cousin played a song by Al Green which impacted his musical preference. He has since anchored himself into the industry as a promoter, radio host, and general manager of Black Kush Records. Launched in April of 2014, Black Kush Records DJ AK has worked with artist such as Soulja Boy, Charlie Boy, Lil’ B, Chamillionaire as well as a few others. AK got an early start, making mixtapes for his peers at the age of 15, which lead to him releasing his first mixtape “Sippin’ Syrup” Filleted & Sautéed which had a heavy influence of the Screw Music genre. AK sites DJ Screw, OG Ron C, E Murda, DJ Michael Watts, and DJ Princess Cuts as well as a few others as an influence to his particular style of music. On his 16th birthday DJ AK met his mentor, Pretty Boy Floyd who he gained a lot of exposure and developed a unique skill set throughout Cleveland with. Spinning at various high school events, more notably the annual “Heights vs. Hood” High School Basketball All-Star game helped him hone his skills. DJ AK has worked on over 20 various projects and played at over 100 events and eager to release his upcoming projects.
