I hired Hiro in the spring to finish my two-level detached garage after consulting with a handful of contractors in the area and soliciting several bids. Hiro seemed to understand my vision for the project in a way that was unique among those I spoke with, and his initial estimate was reasonable compared to others. Once we started the project, it expanded to encompass other elements (lighting, flooring, painting, etc) that were not explicitly considered on the front end but which I decided to pursue on the fly. Hiro was extremely detail-oriented throughout the process, asking about certain touches to ensure that the end result came out precisely as I intended. He was also creative in collaborating on various features; if I had an enhancement in mind, he was actively involved not only in finding a workable solution but one that would be economical for me. And he always sought explicit approval before making a new purchase of materials or revision to the project which would result in a cost increase. In spite of juggling several other jobs alongside mine, Hiro's communication and level of contact throughout the project were excellent. His crews for the various tasks did great work and were consistently friendly and considerate. We started the garage in late April and were complete by the end of August, a process that was delayed at different times due largely to supply issues rather than anything under Hiro’s control. In the end, I’m extremely pleased with the finished product, and I can’t recommend Columbus Reclaimed enough for your major house projects. In fact, we’re already discussing several follow-up projects of varying sizes.

Hiro and his team turned my front porch from old and boring to new and amazing! Previously I had 3 metal supports for the overhang and a single handrail. Now I have beautiful wood supports, rails with balusters, and double handrails! He also installed a new door system and trim. Hiro made sure that we were on the same page as far as materials and design. His crew was on time and was respectful of my time and home. I will definitely keep Hiro in mind for future home projects!

Excellent work. I had a requeast to remove a load bearing wall and add a beam. Hiro came out quickly, and was able to get it done in my quick timeline. His crew worked late and cleaned up the job site when they were done. Will absolutely use them again!

I am not only exceptionally pleased with the final product in my barn/garage project, but also with the experience working with Hiro Minami and his crew. It was clear from the beginning that Hiro was meticulous in his approach to planning. This contributed to a job that never stopped or slowed even when there were issues with obtaining materials, or unexpected hidden rot. It is a tribute to both Hiro and his crew that stress was never apparent at the worksite. I believe that to be a function of the respect showed not only to me but to the work itself. Both Rene and Miguel proved to be truly skilled carpenters. It was a pleasure to watch them. Hiro communicated with me on a daily basis and if there were any change he would not move forward until he knew I understood the plan. I truly appreciate his patience and his kindness. I felt that both Hiro and the crew took ownership of the final product. It is a testament to them that my neighbors tell me how beautiful the barn is. I am grateful for Columbus Reclaimed, LLC.
