- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After 35 years in large companies, I was not feeling fulfillied. I was a manager and executive in a number of business areas including consulting,P&L management, and marketing and sales jobs in startup operations I did a career assessment with a career planner. Based on those findings it became obvious that I possess the skills and experience to help small businesses and their owners to be successful.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most clients have been smaller businesses and nonprofit organziations that are overwhelmed by everything they face in their business. Our key to success, is to act on those particular areas that provide the greatest impact in the shortest time. Achieving immediate results energizes the client and their staff to take subsequent steps to build on their success. Whether it is creating a business plan, marketing, sales or operational problems, my approach works equally effectively. My focus is to get clients acting immediately to get positive results in the shortest possible time. We do that by immediately defining the needs of the client, and identifying THE specific areas that they need to focus on to succeed.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Conduct an indepth interview with your business coach and ask them how you can measure that you are benefiting from their service. Ideally the interview should be face to face. Ask any questions you have about the coach's experience and methods.
